Kit Cope rumored to be returning to Muay Thai against Jose Palacios at Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 4"

More rumors continue to surface about the upcoming Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 4" event. Kit Cope is rumored to be facing WBC Muay Thai welterweight #1 contender Jose Palacios at the November 19th event in Las Vegas, NV. As with the previous rumors regarding Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 4," nothing has been confirmed by Lion Fight Promotions, but sources close to the situation have informed Muay Thai Authority of the rumored bouts.

Cope is likely most recognized from his appearance on MTV's True Life: I'm a Muay Thai fighter. The episode chronicles Cope's training and trip to Thailand to compete in a bare knuckle Muay Thai fight. In addition to being on MTV's True Life series, Cope has also competed in MMA fighting for both the WEC and the UFC, as well as being the host of his own TV series on Spike TV called Wild World of Spike. Competing in MMA for the last few years it will be interesting to see Cope's return to the ring in Muay Thai competition.

Palacios recently defeated Artem Sharoshkin via unanimous decision at Stand Up Promotions "Oblonsky vs. Krasue event" back in early July. Since losing a split decision to Coke Chunhawat in late 2010, Palacios has started to make his mark on the American Muay Thai scene. Currently on a three fight win streak, which includes a fifth round KO of Joey Pagliuso, first round KO of Scotty Leffler, and most recently the unanimous decision victory over Sharoshkin, Palacios' stock is at a high. You have to give Cope credit for returning to Muay Thai action against someone like Palacios rather than taking a warm up fight, as the one thing that is guaranteed is that Palacios comes to win and he can do it by out-pointing you or knocking you out.

The rumored bout between Palacios and Cope joins the previously announced "Battle in the Desert 4" rumored bouts between Coke Cunhawat and Rami Ibrahim as well as Elaina Maxwell vs. Roxy Richardson and Vivian Leung vs. Heidi Otterbein.
